Description: From Chamonix, this route follows a wide track along the Arve river and through the greater Chamonix village. Passing through the golf course at Les Praz, the trail gently rises through the forest on the north side of the valley floor, offering only glimpses of the mountains above until it reaches the village of Argentiere. The main Walker’s Haute Route trail crosses the valley to the south side where it joins the Petit Balcon Nord trail and continues ascending through the trees to Le Tour.
